Young Writers & Leaders Book Launch

  • Portland Museum of Art (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Join this year’s cohort of Young Writers & Leaders as they read from and launch their book, Outbeam the Sun, on Tuesday, May 28th and Wednesday, May 29th from 4:30pm - 6:00pm at the Portland Museum of Art’s Osher Auditorium.

In this year’s anthology of writing from Young Writers & Leaders, you’ll find stories and poems that radiate. Creative writing allows students to shine their brightest. As author Sunila says in her story, “Even now, I’ve only just realized how much writing really means to me. It’s about having another way to understand people and to think from different views and biases that aren’t mine.”

Books will be available for purchase at the event. This event is free and open to the public.

Young Author: Atticus Prinn at Merrill Memorial Library

Join us at the Merrill Memorial Library to hear Yarmouth’s own Atticus Prinn read from and discuss his new novel, Foxtrot Algorithm, that he created during his Telling Room’s Young Emerging Authors Fellowship. This is a perfect opportunity to learn about the writing process for current and aspiring writers of all ages! Anyone who enjoys young adult literature will get something from this event.

Praise from best selling author, Boo Walker, says that Foxtrot Algorithm is “one of the best novels [he’s] read this year, period. This fearless YA stunner has all the feels and a plot that is deliciously unpredictable. World, make way for Atticus Prinn, as I have a feeling he’s just getting started.”
