Desert of Maine Creative Writing Workshop

Looking for a fun way to be outside this spring? Join us for a free, six week writing workshop at one of the most unique places in Maine! We will invite young writers to explore the ecology, geology, and history of the this fascinating landmark, reimagining its oldest stories and creating new ones. We'll use our close observation and wild imaginations to write across various genres, dipping our toes into fiction, nature writing, and poetry while uncovering the secrets beneath the sand. Led by Education Manager Marjolaine Whittlesey and co-hosted by Mela Heestand of the Desert of Maine Center for Arts and Ecology.
