The Telling Room located at 225 Commercial Street, Suite 201 in Portland, ME. The Telling Room is located on the second floor above the Old Port Wine Merchants, across the street from the Japanese restaurant, Sapporo. 

If you're on foot: From Monument Square, take either Center Street or Temple/Union Street down toward the waterfront, and take a left at Commercial. 

If you’re in the car: From the North: Take I-295 South towards Portland, and take exit 8 for Washington Avenue. Turn right on to Fox Street, then take a left on to Franklin Street. At the end of Franklin Street, turn right onto Commercial Street. The Telling Room will be on your right.

From the South: Take I-95 North towards Portland. Take exit 44 towards I-295, then take exit 4 towards Casco Bay Bridge/Portland/Waterfront. Continue onto Veterans Memorial Bridge, then bear right at the end of the bridge to turn on to West Commercial Street. Continue on Commercial Street, and The Telling Room will be on your left.

If you're on the Metro bus: the 8 bus stops at the Casco Bay Ferry Terminal, just a few blocks down Commercial from us. Or you can take ANY of the city bus lines (1-8) and get off at Monument Square and walk from there.

Parking near The Telling Room is limited and we recommend allowing plenty of time to find parking when visiting our Portland studio.

Metered street parking is located along Commercial Street and nearby side streets. Lot parking is available nearby at:
Fisherman’s Wharf
Widgery Wharf
Fore Street Garage

We welcome visitors looking to purchase books and find out how to get involved with The Telling Room.

In an effort to limit distractions while teaching, we are not open to the public when programs are in session. We frequently host events that are open to all community members, however, so please look out for those in our newsletter and on social media.
