Author Talk with Margaret Horton

  • 266 Main Street Cumberland, ME United States (map)

Margaret Horton, one of this year's Telling Room Young Emerging Authors, will join readers at the Prince Memorial Library in Cumberland to talk about and read from her book, Unnamed.

Stuck in Khusali, the planet’s last surviving village, Niolai longs for something she can’t quite grasp. So when the chief asks for a volunteer to explore a newly discovered jungle, she takes the rare opportunity to escape.

It’s not long before Niolai realizes—the jungle is no ordinary place. The towering trees are home to magical creatures and secrets that threaten to unravel history as she knows it. Cataloging mysterious new species and navigating the jungle’s magical rules, Niolai must learn to decipher between destiny and decision, and how much weight is held in a name.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase for those who are interested.

Unnamed
$20.00

Margaret Horton is a junior at Baxter Academy. She started writing early drafts of Unnamed at the start of the COVID pandemic, as a way to escape to mystical worlds outside of her room.  A nature lover and amateur artist, Margaret hopes to one day fill all of her neglected journals with ink. She lives with her family in Cumberland.
