Are you looking for ways to enliven your homeschool creative writing practice? Join Telling Room Education Manager Marjolaine Whittlesey for a set of lively and fun monthly workshops that help homeschool students ages 12 - 16 find their creative voice. Through games, prompts, mentor texts, and sharing, participants will explore various genres while practicing specific elements of craft. Come to a few or join all to bolster your writing confidence and technique. All workshops take place from 10am - 12pm once a month on Tuesdays, running from December 17th, 2024 to April 29th, 2025. Sessions include:

12/17/24 - Personal Narrative - the truths we choose to tell
1/21/25 - Realistic Fiction - with a focus on character creation
2/25/25 - Speculative Fiction & World Building
3/25/25 - Poetry (getting ready for National Poetry Month)
4/29/25 - Earth Day (Observed on 4/22) - Nature writing/Climate Fiction/Advocacy writing

Come for all or as many as you like! Cost to attend is $20 per session.
