The NEA Big Read: Portland is hosting a read-aloud of the children’s book Someone New by Anne Sibley O’Brien, focusing on children’s experiences of immigration. The Telling Room will provide a follow-up writing workshop where children will be supported in telling their own stories. In this fun and interactive workshop, participants will explore storytelling through art and writing!
This read-aloud and writing workshop is designed for children ages 7-10. Registration is required and space is limited to 20 students. To reserve your child’s spot in this workshop, please complete this registration form. All Portland Public Library programs are free to attend.
This program is one of many events that are part of NEA Big Read: Portland Maine. The Telling Room, Portland Public Library, and many other community partners join USM in bringing the NEA Big Read to Maine!
NEA Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.
