Young Writers & Leaders Narrative Reading
    Tuesday, 4:00PM to Thursday, 6:00PM
@ Portland Museum of Art, Bernard Osher Auditorium

Join us for live stories from The Telling Room's Young Writers & Leaders, an afterschool writing program that recently won a National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award from the White House for exemplary arts-education programming. For eight weeks these international high-school students from Portland and South Portland have been working one-on-one with Telling Room writing mentors to create compelling personal narratives. You'll hear stories of a ten-year-old girl living in Jordan who becomes determined to master Tae Kwon Do; a fight that breaks out at a refugee camp when a young boy tells his friends he's leaving Kenya for the U.S; and the story of a Syrian boy fostering three snails after accidentally stepping on their mother.

Tuesday, March 28th and Thursday, March 30th, 4:00-6:00pm reading followed by Q&A with the authors.

These events are free for the public and open to all ages. They will take place at the Portland Museum of Art.
